About “The Stables Ministries”

I accepted Jesus at a Doug Clark Prophecy rally. Doug was one of the main hosts on TBN for around a decade and was with them almost from the start. A transsexual friend of my then lover (a ten year relationship) took us to that rally where in the last 5 minutes of Doug’s prophecy teaching he invited everyone  that wanted prayer to come up front. I went up (see my testimony for details) and accepted Jesus with something like this prayer:

God be merciful to me a sinner! I believe Christ died on the Cross for me, that God rose him on the 3rd day, and that His Precious Blood will cleanse me from all my sins. By faith I now receive the Lord Jesus Christ into my heart as my Lord and my Savior; trusting Him for the salvation of my soul. Forgive me my sins. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

It was Jan. 27^th 1974 at 9:45pm.  In June 1985 I started “The Stables Ministries” had quite a slow mail ministry to the well-known Christian leaders of the day. Because of a homophobic minister  Joni Hodgson of “Come Alive Ministry” that was airing on Public Access TV  I had all I could take of the lies against gays so began searching for a avenue to express myself. Six months later I was set up to have my own TV program. The station needed a very short name title so I came up with “Gays For Jesus” to fit their available screen text generator. I also ran a six line BBS system and  called “Gays For Jesus” It had over 1000 members. In the first 3 years I had over 300,000 viewer calls from the TV programs and what I was getting from other.

 With the advent of the Internet “Gays For Jesus went on line. I was the only openly gay Christian in all the major Christian chat rooms that were a new thing that even back then chat rooms abound and Christian chat rooms in AOL held 50 and there were many room, Yahoo came along  and so I found myself with many screen names and many messengers running at the same time. I estimate now at least 800,000 people have contacted me and that is very conservative.  It took several years before other gay Christians braved Christian chat rooms openly.

What I said in those days are what is main stream to day in the acceptance gays that is resulting in state by state accepting gay marriages .  people today now have easy access to info and have been hearing this for decades. I rather doubt my daily hours in Christian chat rooms being inundated by homophobic Christians giving me center stage to say what I know and that is gay is not sin with the back up on my personal research into these issues and the Bible. There were no positive resources to find in 1985. Gay churches were available then but were tiny, but some of them had a great deal of info.

“Gays For Jesus” TV programs over all these years has been seen by at least one person in every country. I can say that with almost 100% accuracy because I saw myself preaching on people computer monitor I chatted with and they showed me with the PC cam aimed at their PC monitor. Many foreign pastors have watched and told me so beside lots of other.  Those same pastors want me to go preach at their churches. I would be happy to go but the $$ aren’t there for plane tickets.
