marmonk was asking about the Anti-Gay Church Doctrine I often use. He had asked me a lot of questions, but would not answer any of mine.
Hi stranger... Still no comment on some of your background. I recently got a letter from a Bothell group calling themselves "The Committee on Accountability" They wanted me to repent or later I'll become accountable. Yet, in their letter to me they avoided leaving any name or address or phone number so I could follow up with them. You at least for now (not by your choice) have an e-mail address. I was hoping you could become a human being and tell me some things about yourself. Not only could I treat you as a person and can understand where you are coming from. How is your faith in Christ? Is it a bit shaky? Can you trust Jesus? You must have some good enough reason to hide this info from me. Yet you want me to detail and document everything????? I forgive you on that and will happily answer the best I can. Sometimes I may speak in parables for a reason as God directs.
Now you are interested in 700 year anti-gay Church doctrine. Technically its really 697 years and then actually a space of time that generally covers the last half of the 12th century. Probably 90% (but you hate percentages) of gay condemnation began in this time frame. Most verses used to condemn gays developed here. The others went back and forth on various meanings thru the centuries. One highly acclaimed and praised book by many credible people. New York Times and New Week are a couple. The book is named "Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality" by John Boswell. He was a professor of history at Yale University. Authored several books and scholarly translations. Winner of the 1981 American Book Awards for History. He goes into very detailed documentation from Jesus to the 14th century concerning this issue. He also in the same fashion writes in another book about how the Church treated children in the middle ages. I like his book as it puts together much of what I have found on my own as well as give me much to continue on in my person research.
A secular book that documents American gay history "Gay American History" by Jonathan Katz is a 1050 + page book that document literature concerning gays in our American history. It also show the effects of the anti-gay doctrine. I could push about 3 keys right here from Juno e-mail and access my Bible program and have nearly the whole of the Church anti-gay doctrine instantly on my screen. This is possible because the doctrine is 700 years old and incorporated into Bible programs. I have done this often to e-mail thousands with the actual Greek and Hebrew that this Bible program also provides. You see even in the clearly homophobic Church study material without going to "gay biased" sources if you will, you can find the truth in front of your eyes in well established and accepted Church wide study materials. I first learned gay was not sin in Christian book stores. You certainly don't believe these book stores sell anything that would support gays do you? Yet for nearly 12 years that was my schooling on the Bible. Going up and down the isles reading on the many subjects in the Bible. I also got lots of free books from TBN and learned much concerning the workings of God and the walk of a Christian and learning about how God inhabits the praises of His people. Most of my Christian education is from the otherwise homophobic Church. I know what they are thinking when they condemn gays and where they get it from. They don't even know that. One benefit in being gay is that most the time no one knows so they freely interact as though I am straight. Gays know so much about straights, but straights know almost nothing about gays.
God Bless you
In Christ Jesus
John

Do you have names and locations for these libraries? I
have seen you mention them at your web site, but you never
list their names or locations. If you did and I missed it,
then my apologies. But, I still would like to know where
these buildings are located and their names.
Thank you
Mark
(above referring to 3 large gay libraries)
^i^ 2 are private not open to the public, but as for where I'd have to research what few books I own or search the internet. I doubt if I could remember the name of the books I read that documents the names. It did list the owners names and city locations. It was before computers could easily copy documentation and before I would have kept info to show others as my first 12 years were strictly for my own personal knowledge and not a thought that I would be speaking on TV or any other ministry that past material would be useful. Try asking Lambda, spelling may be wrong here, or get the SGN and find the Seattle gay bookstores, I think there are 2 maybe 3 main ones. I have been in one and it has a large number a gay books. Does your name mean married monk? You ask a lot of me so tell me about yourself. What church do you attend, (background ok) How long have you been a Christian, and why are you acting like you know something about gays? Are you baptized in the Holy Spirit? How old are you?. Are you a man or a woman? (oh there it is "Mark" ok) What is your field of interest in ministry and what do you like in your free time. Do you have kids? What do you believe about the Rapture?
